JV Rebels bounce back, 12-0

The Chambers Academy JV Rebels got off to a bitter start early in the week with a 12-0 loss to 3A Edgewood Academy.
Things looked much brighter at week’s end for the Rebels with a big 6-2 victory over the Springwood Wildcats.  Payton Allen got the start on the mound against Springwood; pitching the entire 5 inning game.  Allen struck out 9 and walked 6 batters.  He allowed only 3 hits.
Springwood’s Ethan Plank started for the Wildcats and pitched 3 innings.  Plank allowed 4 hits and 5 runs.  He walked 4 and struck out 6.
Cooper Champion pitched the final 2 innings in relief; striking out 4 batters and allowing 1 run.  At the plate Chambers’ Jacob Oliver led the team going 2 for 2 with 1 walk.

Oliver logged 2 RBI’s and scored 2 runs.  Also recording hits for the Rebels were Benjamin Caulfield, Joseph Hendrix and Payton Allen.
The JV Rebels will be in action at home on Friday as they face the Lee-Scott Warriors.
