The Chambers County Sheriff’s Department has arrested three more individuals in connection to a homicide north of LaFayette last month. The department issued a press release Friday updating the recent arrests.
Deputies from the department were conducting a welfare check at a home in the 33000 block of U.S. Highway 431 in Chambers County on September 5th. When Deputies arrived to do the welfare check they discovered the body of David Heard who had suffered several gunshot wounds and was deceased.
Shortly over a week later on September 14th deputies arrested 21-year-old Cordamione Cameron of LaGrange, GA. Cameron was charged with capital murder, robbery 1st degree, and burglary 1st degree. The Sheriff’s department has continued to work the case and investigate further and on Friday the department announced the arrest of three more individuals in connection to the death of Mr. Heard.
Arrested are 22-year-old Tre-Shaniq Burley of LaGrange, GA who has been charged with capital murder, robbery 1st degree, and burglary 1st degree. Also arrested is 26-year-old Cortney Simms of Roanoke, AL who has been charged with murder and conspiracy-robbery 1st degree. The final new arrest is of Ashley Spidell Murphy who is 24-years-old and from Wedowee, AL. Murphy has been charged with murder and conspiracy-robbery 1st degree.
All the new suspects have been arrested and are being held in the Chambers County detention facility. In the press release Sheriff Sid Lockhart issued his thanks to the Roanoke Police Department and LaGrange police department for their assistance in the case.
