Chambers Academy has celebrated a lot of “firsts” this football season. Earlier in the year, on the anniversary of the 45th homecoming game, members of the “first” CA football team were recognized. Then the Rebels completed the regular season with a 10-0 record for the very “first” undefeated season ever. Most recently head coach, Jason Allen, experienced his 100th career win after the Rebels defeated Southern Academy in the “first” round of the state playoffs. As far as “firsts” go these are pretty sweet. The only thing sweeter would be to experience being state champions for the “first” time in Chambers Academy history.
Allen was presented with a football signed by players and cheerleaders at the conclusion of last week’s game. Fans also signed a banner to congratulate Allen on his milestone achievement.
Jason Allen has always been a “Rebel” through and through. Born and raised in Lafayette, Allen graduated from Chambers Academy and proudly wore the Rebel uniform himself. As a coach at Chambers Academy he has had the opportunity to impact the lives of many young men, not only with his knowledge of football but also with knowledge of life.
At the beginning of football season Jason met with parents of his players. One thing he emphasized was this “ I want to help make your sons good football players but more than that I want to help make your sons good men” You see, Jason Allen isn’t just good coach: he’s a good Christian man who through his love of football and his faith in God has not only built a team of athletes but he has built a team of fine young men.
100 victories is an outstanding accomplishment for a coach. Congratulations Coach Allen on this awesome achievement and thank you for giving of yourself to the boys fortunate enough to be coached by you at Chambers Academy.
