Mrs. Annie Lue Pearson, 89, of Camp Hill died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at Murray Chapel AME Zion Church, Camp Hill on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. (CST) with Rev. Tommie Lee Finley officiating. Interment will be in the Camp Hill City cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church from 12:00 p.m. (CST) until the funeral hour. Public viewing will be at Vines Funeral Home, Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. (CST).
Mrs. Pearson was born June 18, 1928 to the late Wince and Mary Lou Woody in Camp Hill. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a life-long member of the Murray Chapel AME Zion Church. She married the late John William Pearson, Sr. and they had five children. Mrs. Pearson attended historic Edward Bell High School, Camp Hill. She was blessed with a number of skills. Initially, she used thse skills to be a great homemaker for her family. After the passing of her husband, Mrs. Pearson used these talents to obtain employment with Playtex Corporation, Camp Hill Sportswear and Russell Corporation. With all the success she found at the various jobs, her true passion was working with the elderly and handicap at Dadeville Convalescent Home. Mrs. Pearson was preceded in death by three sons: Dr. Bernard Pearson, Howard Pearson and John William Pearson, Jr.
Mrs. Pearson is survived by a loving daughter, Mary Francis (Clinnon) Holloway, Camp Hill; one son, LaSalle Minniefield, Union Springs; a special friend, Willie Joe Spence, Camp Hill; ten grandchildren, including a devoted granddaughter, Teaniace (T.T.) Holloway, Birmingham: a caring great-grandson, Devin Ball, Birmingham; three sisters: Azzie Dee Winston, Camp Hill, Catherine Woody, Brooklyn, NY and Rosie (Earl) Delaney, Cleveland, OH; three brothers: Quincy Lee Woody, Cleveland, OH, Tommy Lee (Ethel) Woody, Stanford, CT and Willis (Glenese) Woody of Camp Hill; two daughters-in-law, Quan Pearson, Birmingham and Delores (Lois) Pearson, Valley and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
