Bulldog bats silent, shutout twice by Horseshoe Bend

The LaFayette Bulldogs Baseball hosted Horseshoe Bend this past Friday in a double header.The Bulldogs lost game one 9-0.“In the first game, I thought we did a good job of hitting the ball, we just couldn’t get the ball to drop where we wanted to and make some plays, De-fense played outstanding” LaFayette head baseball coach Micheal Pattillo said.In both games on Fri-day, the Bulldogs’ ability to make contact at the plate was a positiveGame one was also the first time in Pat-tillo’s coaching tenure at LaFayette where the Bulldogs completed a full seven-inning game against Horseshoe Bend.“I am extremely proud of how the guys played the first game. It is the first time since I’ve been here that we have played a complete game with them, to me that shows our guys are improving” said Pat-tillo.The Bulldogs lost game two 13-0. Horseshoe Bend cracked the game open at the top of the second inning with a 3-run home run.Pattillo added “we just got to keep working together to get the defense and offense working at the same time and we will be fine”The Bulldogs return home on March 12 to host Wadley.
