The LaFayette Bulldogs Basketball teams played two games last week.

The varsity boys and varsity girls teams both hosted the Horseshoe Bend Generals on last Thursday.

The game was the first area game for the Bulldogs.

Both teams came out with victories against the visiting Generals.

The girls dominated the lady Generals 38-19 for their first area win on the year.

The boys also won convincingly defeating the Generals by a lop sided score of 73-35 for their first area win.

On Saturday night all teams were in action.

The varsity boys, girls and B-team all traveled to face the Russell County Warriors.

It was a tough night for the Bulldogs as all three teams lost their games.

The varsity boys fell short in a tight contest as the Warriors squeezed by the Dogs late in the game by a score of 71-63.

The Lady Bulldogs had a hard night on the court as the Warriors easily defeated the Lady Dogs 52-34.

In B-team action the Dogs lost a nail biter. With the score tied at 33 points a piece and only a few seconds remaining in the game a Russell County player heaves up a three pointer and gives them the win.

It was a clean sweep for the Warriors with all of their teams getting the victory.

The Dogs will have to regroup and pick up the pieces as they move forward in the season. “GO DOGS”
