Bulldogs drop opener to Reeltown, 15-5

The Lafayette High baseball team opened the season on the road this past Friday at Reeltown.
The Rebels won 15-5.

The Bulldogs were led on the mound by senior Zarion Moore. Mekevio Shealey and Julius Bullard led the Bulldogs hitting with one hit each.
The game began with the Dogs giving up 9 runs in the 1st inning.The Dogs would settle down.

Lafayette would score in the 2nd inning and really got the offense going in the 5th scoring 4 runs.

Lafayette coach Micheal Pattillo said “The guys played hard and fought for the entire game, we are a young team and made some first game mistakes. We will continue to work hard and get better.”

Asked his expectations for the season: “I feel like with the players we have returning and the ones coming in, I feel like we will have a chance to be pretty good before the season is over.”
