Bulldogs playoff bound after crushing Horseshoe Bend

The LaFayette Bulldogs
are playoff bound.
On last Friday the
night the Bulldogs se-
cured a spot in the 2018
Alabama 2A Playoffs
with a smashing of the
Horseshoe Bend Gener-
als.
The Bulldogs domi

nated the Generals with a
35-6 win.
Once again senior
quarterback Jaelin
McCurdy put together
another stellar game with
a total of 5 touchdowns
on the night.
McCurdy passed for 4
scores and added another
on the ground.
McCurdy rushed 5
times for 27-yards and

pass in the first quarter,
which led to a fumble
and score for the Gener-
als.
It was all Bulldogs
from that point on.
LaFayette put on a
scoring exhibition in the
first half with 21-points
in the first quarter and
added another score in
the second to close the
half with a 27-6 led over
the Generals.
The Dogs and the
Generals would both
go scoreless in the
third
stanza and head
into the final quarter with
a score of 27-6.
In the fourth quarter
the Bulldogs would add
one more score to end
the game with a final
score of 35-6.
It was a struggle for
the visiting Generals
all night as they were
plaqued with injuries
which led to three quar-
ters being shorten to 8
minutes with a running lock.
At the end of the night the Dogs got the
victory and are headed
to their fourth straight
playof
f appearance.
LaFayette’s rush-
ing attack was led once
again by Victor Tol-
bert
with 8 carries for
78-yards.
Keandrae Peterson
rushed for 51-yards on 6
carries.
Ja›Mariae Daniels led
the Dogs in receiving
with three receptions for
75-yards and two touch

downs.
Jordan Walker had
three receptions for
30-yards and a touch-
down.
Keandrae Peterson
also had 15-yard recep-
tion for a score.
The Dogs defense was
anchored by the seniors
once again.
Senior JaQuavion
Boston-Gaines recorded
12 tackles on the night,
while senior Lajareon
Bryant had 10 tack-
les
and senior Trevor
Vines
added 9 tackles
for the game. Trevor
Vines also had a caused
fumble and had two
fumble recoveries.

requavious Lloyd
recorded the games only
interception, along with
2 tackles.

on the road to face Ge

neva County in the first
round of the playoffs on
November 9, 2018, at 7
