The LaFayette High Bulldogs hosted their first home game of the 2017 season Friday night against the Loachapoka Indians.

LaFayette and Loachapoka both were coming into Friday›s game after suffering losses in their first week of play.

With both teams sporting an 0-1 record, each team looked to get their first win of the season.

In the first quarter LaFayette struck first with the first of three first quarter touchdowns coming by way of running back Robert Houston with 4:38 left in the quarter.

The Bulldogs defense would take over the scoring for the rest of the quarter as Omar Boston stripped the ball from a Loachapoka player and took in for the score.

About a minute later LaFayette linebacker Yogi Barker scooped up a loose ball and added to the Bulldog lead.

The score at the end of the first quarter, LaFayette 20 and Loachapoka 0.

In the second quarter both teams would get to the end zone only once.

Loachapoka’s JyQuan Combs got the Indians their first and only score of the game.

LaFayette’s Jamarquez Boston-Gaines got his first touchdown on the night in the second quarter with a pass from quarterback Jaelin McCurdy.

This would be the Bulldogs last score of the half as well as the game.

The halftime score, LaFayette 26 and Loachapoka 6.

The second half would prove to be a battle of the defenses as both teams held the other to zero points for the remainder of the game.
LaFayette’s young quarterback Jaelin McCurdy seems to be getting better each week and becoming more in tact with the Bulldogs offense.
Robert Houston led the rushing attack for the Bulldogs with 92 yards on 14 carries.

Houston’s biggest and most exciting run of the night went for 66 yards as he would evade 8 Loachapoka players before reaching the end zone, only to have it negated by a holding penalty against the Dogs.

Jaelin McCurdy had 8 carries for 49 yards.

In the defensive side of the ball Yogi Barker had a game high 17 tackles, with a fumble return for a touchdown.
Omar Boston had 15 tackles with a fumble return for a touchdown as well.

The Bulldogs look to continue there winning ways this Friday as they play host to the Vincent Yellow Jackets to begin region play.
