The Lafayette High baseball team finished up their season this past Thursday.
The Bulldogs finished the season on a two game winning streak.
The Bulldogs defeated Loachapoka 14-13 on Wednesday and Lanett 9-6 on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Loachapoka would strike first.
The Indians took a 2-0 lead in the 1st Inning.
The Bulldogs would come fighting back and take the lead 4-2 in their half of the inning.
Lafayette would add to their lead in the next two innings.
Loachapoka however did not quit.
The Indians would slow play their way back into the game and even take a 13-11 lead in the 6th inning.
The Bulldogs would tie the game in the bottom of the 7th.
The Bulldogs then dug in deep.
With two outs and needing one run to win the Bulldogs managed to get the bases loaded and the Loachapoka pitcher walked the winning run in.
On Thursday the Bulldogs hosted Lanett for the last game of the season.
The Bulldogs would take the lead early.
The Panthers would not go down easily.
The game would go back and forth for most of the game.
The Panthers were able to pull to within one at 7-6.
The Bulldogs would score two runs in bottom of the 6th inning to reach the final score of 9-6.
With these wins the Lafayette High baseball team finished the season on a two game win streak and a positive attitude heading into the summer and then off season workouts.
The future is looking bright for the Bulldogs, as they are only loosing 3 players to graduation and will return a lot young and experienced players next year.
The Bulldogs head coach Micheal Pattillo said “It feels great to end the season on a winning note.
The players and coaches are excited to get into summer workouts and off season conditioning.
We are all looking forward to next season and what the future has for Lafayette High School Baseball.
