CA Rebels win first, lost two

The Chambers Academy Rebels’ baseball team was on the road last week starting in Montevallo as they faced the Evangel-Alabaster Lightning.  The Rebels succumbed to Evangel 2-0.  Luke Davis started on the mound pitching 5 complete innings.  He gave up 2 earned runs and struck out 5.

The Rebels would also fall to Eastwood in the first area matchup of the season on Tuesday in Montgomery by a score of 2-0.  Gavin White started on the mound giving up only 1 earned run and striking out 5.

Victory was obtained on Friday as the Rebels returned home to face Cornerstone Christian in a 8-2 win over the Chargers. Luke Davis got the win on the mound pitching 5 innings and striking out 3.  Jordan Gillespie picked up the save pitching the final 2 innings; striking out 3.  Gillespie also batted 3-4 at the plate and recorded 2 RBI’s and 1 stolen base.  Gavin White also batted 3-4 at the plate and recorded 3 RBI’s in the win.

The Rebels will travel to Springwood School on Monday to face the Wildcats before returning home to play a double header on Tuesdayagainst area rival Evangel Christian Academy of Montgomery.  The Rebels will finish the week with a double header at home on Saturdayagainst area opponent, Eastwood.  Game time on Saturday is set for 1:00 ct.  Make plans to come support the Chambers Academy Rebels Varsity baseball team.
