Chambers Academy was thrilled to host an education-al program for our students on Friday, March 1st at 10 a.m. in the Chambers Academy Gymnasium. CA hosted Linda Dutil who visited LaFayette from Waterville, Maine. She presented her program on “A Dose of Reality.” Linda Dutil is a registered nurse whom works in a hospital emergency department in Waterville, Maine. She was at CA this month as part of her efforts travel-ling the U.S.A presenting assemblies to middle and high school students nation-wide about the dangers of drugs, alcohol and vap-ing. Over the last eighteen years, she has presented her program to thousands of schools across America. Linda’s program gave special attention to the rise of electronic cigarettes that have increased in usage by today’s teens.
Linda’s 45 minute pre-sentation was engaging and informative for the students. She tried to provide students with as much information as possible to help them make informed and wise choices. The program was made possible at Chambers Academy thanks to sponsor-ship by Mr. Al Zachry with LaGrange Grocery. Dutil’s message is a positive one whose goal is to educate students to stay safe and make good choices. Linda shared with students about the effects drugs, alcohol and vaping can have on their bodies. She noted that it’s a fact of life that teens and pre-teens don’t always consider the consequences of their actions. You can learn more about Linda’s mission to reach teens about the consequences of poor choices at her website at www.dose-of-reality.com Attached are photos from Linda’s program at CA and how she explained emer-gency intervention steps to students that are taken in hospital rooms for those who make poor choices
