Chambers Academy varsity and JV volleyball teams post wins

The Chambers Academy volleyball team got their second win of the season last week, while the junior varsity Rebels picked up their first win ever in an exciting week of action for both teams.

The junior varsity’s inaugural win came last week against Cornerstone at home. The Lady Rebels won the match 2-1. They won the first set 25-14, dropped the second one 21-25, then captured the third 15-10.

Both teams played on Monday night against EMCA at home, and the Rebels teams swept. The junior varsity team won in two sets, 25-22 and 25-23.

The varsity team won their match in four sets, 25-22, 25-16, 23-25 and 25-18.

Hannah Slay led the varsity Lady Rebels in the win with 13 kills and one solo block. Anslee Reese had 18 assists and Kelsey Oliver had a team-high 18 aces.

Both teams will face EMCA again on Thursday in Prattville. The JV game begins at 4 pm CST. The varsity team is also scheduled to participate in the Glenwood Tournament this Saturday.

The teams have only two regular season games left after the weekend, the first on Oct. 8 against Lee Scott and the last on Oct. 9 against Edgewood.
