There is a unique brand that is tied to LaFayette and Chambers County and that is “Strength Woven In”. While some would think this ties into the regions strong history with the textile industry it is actually more so related to the strength of the close ties that bind the community. The root of that bind begins with family and the city of LaFayette took that a step further on Monday night to help embrace the true foundation of LaFayette’s strength.
At Monday evening’s city council meeting members of the city council proclaimed September 26, 2016 as Family Day in LaFayette. Under that proclamation that was unanimously approved by the council. It is encouraged on that day for residents of LaFayette to spend more time together as a family and embrace each other.
Under the ideas of the proclamation it is encouraged that on this day citizens of LaFayette take time out and devote their actions to family related functions to help build the relationships of family. The proclamation was initially set as a motion and approved and seconded by council members.
