Courthouse flags are an American Legion project

It is customary to see
American Flags flying
on the courthouse square
during certain holiday and
events in Lafayette.
The flags are reminders
of the courage of all of the
honorable people who make
up our military, our fire
fighters, our police officers,
and even every day hero’s
like moms, dads, nurses,
and teachers.
Our own American Le-
gion Post 141 is responsible
for these flags we enjoy
so much. It is the Veterans
living right here around La-
Fayette who ensure that we
get to see Old Glory Wave
on those special days. It is
important to the Legion to
make sure the next genera-
tions appreciate and learn
how to handle and respect
the flag.
The legion not only pro-
vides flags to the City but it
also provides flags to all of
the schools in LaFayette.
Right now the American
Legion Post 141 is having
a Flag Fund Raffle. Tickets

ent to win. Tickets are $5 or
