LaFayette’s Parks and Recreation Department and the East Alabama Football League began its registration process over the weekend for upcoming youth football and baseball. The registration is presently ongoing, but parents are encouraged to sign their youth up quickly to avoid late fees that are quickly approaching.
According to Toney Thomas, Recreational Board Chairman registration began on April 7th for baseball and football. The registration is being held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and on Tuesdays and Thursdaysf rom 5-7 p.m. at LaFayette City Hall.
The registration fee for t-ball and baseball is $45.00 and there is a $75.00 fee for football registration. In addition to baseball and football there is ongoing cheerleading registration going on as well. The fee for Cheerleading is $65.00. There is a discounted rate of $80.00 for children that want to play both sports.
Residents are asked to register during the early registration period which ends soon. Late registration begins in July and fees do increase to $85 for football and $75 for cheerleading. For more information residents can contact LaFayette City Hall.
