Last weekend gunfire in the Lee County city of Opelika claimed the life of two men including a native of LaFayette. For the second straight weekend gunfire has erupted in the neighboring County and claimed the life of another man in a moment of violence.
According to reports from the Lee County Coroner at 10:20 p.m. on Sunday night, Auburn Police responded to a call in the 800 block of Bedell Avenue for shots fired. When emergency officials to include police and ems arrived they discovered a 20-year-old male lying outside of a residence with no signs of life.
The Lee County Coroner identifies that individual as Tyquavious Delp Jackson of Birmingham, AL. Auburn EMS attempted to revive Jackson at the scene, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death is believed to be from multiple gunshot wounds to Jackson. His body has been transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences Medical Examiners Office for a postmortem examination.
