Friday (July 1st) a fire of unknown origin destroyed the old home place of Charlie Lamb on County Road 107 behind Rock Springs Church. The house was not currently occupied and had sat vacant for several years.
By the time fire fighters arrived, the structure was fully engulfed and it is not known if anything was inside.
No injuries were reported. The property is currently owned by Dudley Lumber Co.
According to Bill Lambeth, Chief of the Union Hill F.D. the call came in from a motorist who noticed smoke as he passed by the residence.
The State Fire Marshall is investigating the blaze. Chief Lambeth was quick to point out that it is routine procedure for State authorities to investigate any blaze of unknown origin.
More details will be released when the investigation is complete.
