LaFayette High Bulldogs running back Robert Houston put on a show Friday night against the Woodland Bobcats. Houston was amazing as he ripped the Bobcats for 232 yards rushing on 21 carries and two touchdowns as the Bulldogs beat Woodland, 34-12 for their fourth win.
The game started slow for both the Bulldogs and the Bobcats as both teams defenses would pitch shut outs in the first quarter. In the second the Bobcats would get on the board first to grab a quick 6-0 lead.
The score would awaken the Bulldogs and the onslaught would begin.
The Bulldogs offensive attack led by Robert Houston, Jaelin McCurdy, and Jamarquez Boston-Gaines put up multiple touchdowns in the second and third quarters.
The Bobcats would get another score in the game, but only to be overwhelmed by the Mighty Bulldogs vicious attack.
Along with Houston›s big night on offense, Jamarquez Boston-Gaines had a great night with 8 catches for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns, while quarterback Jaelin McCurdy was 8 of 19 passing for 110 yards with 2 touchdowns and a rushing touchdown.
The Bulldog defense continued with its dominance on the field holding the Bobcats to only twelve points.
The defense has been a catalyst for the Bulldogs all year long with its hard-nosed relentless play on the grid iron.
The Bulldog defense was led by Julius Bullard with 15 tackles and 2 sacks, while Yogi Barker had 12 tackles on the night. Jordan Walker and Azerious Brooks both had interceptions for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs are now 4-1 on the season and 3-0 in region play.
The Dogs have an open game this week and will return to play next week as they host the Horseshoe Bend Generals for Homecoming.
