Lady Rebels cap week with two doubleheader wins

The Chambers Academy Lady Rebels have had an exhausting week of softball. The week started on the road against EMCA in Prattville where the ladies picked up a 20-1 win over the Lady Wildcats in area play. Leading the Rebels were Kelsey Oliver going 2-4 with 3 RBIs, McKensie Barnes 2-3 with a walk and 1 RBI, Lindsey Stewart 1-3 with a walk and 2 RBI’s and Tate Reese 1-3 with a walk and a RBI. McKensie Barnes pitched the entire 4 inning game allowing 1 walk and striking out 3.

The Ladies continued the week against 3A Lee-Scott Academy on Friday losing 15-5. Multiple defensive errors allowed the Lady Warriors to get an early lead to outscore the Rebels. Tate Reese went 2-3 with 2 RBI’s and McKensie Barnes went 1-2 with a walk in the loss. McKensie Barnes pitched 3 innings with 1 strike out and 3 walks. Chloe Mitcham came in in relief pitching the last 2 innings, striking out 5 batters.

The week ended with the ladies hosting Kingwood Christian at home in a double header Saturday. The first game ended with a 19-5 Rebel victory. Kelsey Oliver led the Rebels going 3-3 with a walk and 2 RBI’s. Jessica Holiday went 2-2 with 2 walks and 2 RBI’s. Tate Reese and Olivia Williams each went 3-4. McKensie Barnes went 2-4 with 1 RBI and Tori Harmon went 1-2 with 2 walks and a RBI. The team recorded 17 total hits. Olivia Williams took the win pitching the 5 inning game, striking out 4.

The 2nd game against Kingwood was also a win for the Rebels in a final score of 16-1. Tori Harmon led this game going 2-3 at the plate with 4 RBIs. Jossie Daniel went 2-2 with a RBI. Olivia Williams went 2-4 with a RBI. Jessica Holliday went 1-2 and Kristina Stewart went 1-1 in the win. McKensie Barnes recorded the win pitching a complete game striking out 9 batters.

The lady Rebels face EMCA in an area play double header on Monday 3/20 before facing the rival Springwood Wildcats on Thursday in Lanett. The week will end at Cornerstone Christian in Columbiana on Saturday where the ladies will play in a tournament.
