Lady Rebels now 6-1, after twinbill win

The Chambers Academy Lady Rebels are 6-1 so far this season; 2-0 in area play with wins against Evangel Christian last week.  In game one of Tuesday’s double header the Rebels run ruled Evangel by a score of 13-3. Chloe Mitcham led the team both in the circle and at the plate.  In the circle she pitched 5 innings striking out 10, allowing 1 hit and walking 3.  At the plate she went 3 for 4 and led with 3 RBI’s.  McKensie Barnes, Tate Reese and Tori Harmon also had a good game going 2 for 3 at the plate.  Kelsey  Oliver and Jossie Daniel also had hits in the win.

Game two was also won by run rule 14-4 in the Rebel’s favor.  McKensie Barnes got the start in the circle pitching 5 innings.  She struck out 4, allowed 5 hits and walked none. Olivia Williams and Chloe Mitcham both went 2 for 3 at the plate. Barnes, Tate Reese and Jossie Daniel all had hits in the win. Daniel had 2 RBI’s in the win.

The wins against Evangel are huge for the Rebels in terms of area standings. The ladies have yet to face EMCA, another area opponent, but will play them at home next week.. The Rebels travel to Evangel on Tuesday, March 6th, to take on the Lions.  Both JV and Varsity teams will play.
