Lady Rebels spike Evangel

The Lady Rebels Volleyball team is heading to the state playoffs after having secured the #3 seed with their wins last week against area teams, EMCA and Evangel. Against EMCA the Rebels started off strong winning the first two matches by a score of 25-12.  EMCA rallied, taking match three by a score of 25-20.  The Rebels came back to win match four 25-18 to win the game.  The Rebels’ serving game was strong with Bailey Allen and McKensie Barnes each credited with 11 aces each.  Lindsey Fuller added an impressive 8 aces in the win.  Britten Stephens led in hits with 10.  Haley Harmon also had a block in the win.
In the best 3 out of 5 matches Evangel won the first by a score of 25-18.  The Rebels won the next three matches 25-18, 25-19 and 25-15 for the game win. Leading the Rebels with 7 aces each were Tate Reese and Bailey Allen. Audra Slay, back after having missed part of the season due to injury, had 5 aces in the win. Tate Reese also led in hits with 8.  Bailey Allen and Chloe Mitcham had 7 hits each. McKensie Barnes led in digs with 10 total. Tate Reese had 6 digs and Audra Slay and Kelsey Oliver each had 5.
In JV action CA was again victorious with 25-18 and 25-6 wins over EMCA and 25-14 and 25-13 wins against Evangel.  Against EMCA Britten Stephens had an outstanding 14 aces in the win. Chloe Mitcham had 4 hits.  Against Evangel Natalie Lovelace had 9 aces to lead the Rebels.  Britten Stephens added 7 in the win. 
The girls will travel to Tuscaloosa on Tuesday, October 10th in the first round of the state playoffs to take on #2 seed, North River Christian Academy, from the other side of the state at 4:00 ct. Rounding out our area is #1 seed Edgewood, #2 seed Autauga and #4 seed
