Lady Rebels upend Meadowview to reach final four


Chambers Acad-
emy Lady Rebels volley-
ball team is headed to the
final four for the second
consecutive year. The
ladies, put out in a nail
biter by Autauga last year, are looking to win a first
ever state championship in
Varsity volleyball. The JV
ladies won state less than
2 weeks ago. Could Head
Coach Jaylan Reynolds
win titles in both JV and
Varsity her first year as
head coach?
The ladies have been busy to get to this point.
They first beat Abbev

ille in the first round of
playoffs. Bailey Allen was
impressive with 14 kills,
3 aces and 2 blocks in the
win. Claire Allen served
up 6 aces and 14 set as-
sists. Alyssa Sorrels had 6
kills. Megan Ware had 8
set assists and 2 aces and
Jangelica Abney had 5
kills in the win.
They then traveled to
Macon East Academy
where they competed for
seeding. In the first game
against Hooper the ladies
fell in 3 sets. Bailey Allen
again led the team with 12
kills and 5 blocks. Chloe
Mitcham had 4 kills and
2 aces.
The ladies then
faced Lowndes Acad-
emy; defeating them in 3
straight sets. Bailey Allen
had 8 kills, 2 aces and 6
blocks and Olivia Wil-
liams had 3 aces in the
The ladies entered the
elite eight as the 3rd
matched against 2nd
Meadowview from the
other side of the state.
Held at the Crampton Bowl in Montgomery, the
Rebels defeated Mead-
owview in the best 3
out of 5 matches. Bailey
Allen had 16 kills, 1 ace
and a block in the win.
Lindsey Fuller, Britten
Stephens and Claire Allen
each had 3 aces. Claire
Allen had 13 set assists
and 1 dig.
The ladies will travel
back to Montgomery on
Thursday to the Cramp-
ton Bowl where they
will compete in the final
four against Eastwood at
12:00 noon on court 5.
The winner will advance
to the championship game
which will be held on
court 6
beginning thirty
minutes after the comple-
tion of the first game
