The finishing stretch wasn’t all bad for the Dogs. They were able to complete a season sweep of county rival Lanett, both wins coming in convincing fashion. Last Thursday, Rick Martin led the Bulldogs to an 11-1 win thanks to a one-hit, 11-strikeout performance on the mound. Martin was also 4-for-4 at the plate.
LaFayette’s bats stayed red-hot when the Panthers hosted the Bulldogs on Wednesday. In another runaway win, LaFayette brought the 10-run rule into play with a final score of 15-4. It is the second consecutive year the Bulldogs have swept the season series with the Panthers.
