LaFayette police apprehend three men accused of apartment armed robbery


On Wednesday De-
cember 12. 2018 around
5:30pm the LaFayette Po-
lice Department responded
to a call in Jenkins Apart-
ments of a Burglary and a
Robbery. When Officers
arrived on scene, they
found a victim suffering
from minor injuries. Prior
to the LaFayette Police
Department arrival, three
males had forcibly entered
into an apartment, armed
with a handgun, and de-
manded money. The three
males then fled the area
on foot.
On December 13,
2018 information was
developed by the LaFay-
ette Police Department
Investigations Division
that identified the three
suspects in connection
with the crime. Upon con-
ferring with the Chambers
County District Attorney’s
Office, warrants were
obtained for the charges of
Burglary 1st Degree, Rob-
bery 1st Degree, Assault
3rd, and Theft of Property
4th Degree.
The three suspects
were identified as Robert
Victor Houston Jr. (18) of
Five Points, AL. and two
black males ages (15) and
(16) of LaFayette, AL.
All three suspects were
located and taken into
custody without incident
by the LaFayette Police
Department and the as-
sistance of the Chambers
County Sheriff’s Office.
Houston and the 16 yr. old
male (who is charged as
an adult) were transported
to the Chambers County
Detention Facility. The 15
yr. old male was trans-
ported to the Lee County
Youth Detention Center.
All three suspects remain
in custody. If anyone has any
