Two separate accidents in pedestrians versus vehicles in a span of three days has left one person dead and one fighting for their life. Just a few miles apart in the nearby cities of Lanett and LaGrange.
The first accident occurred on Friday evening in Lanett. A woman was attempting to cross Highway 50 when she was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian did sustain serious injuries and was airlifted to Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, Ga. As of Monday she was listed in critical condition at the hospital. The driver in that accident did stop and has not been charged in connection to the accident.
On Monday evening a second accident occurred in nearby LaGrange, Ga. A woman was hit by a vehicle that evening on West Point Road. Few details have been released about that accident yet, but officials do confirm the woman had died from her injuries. Both accidents are still under investigation.
