Lanett Panthers looks to be heading for The State Championship 3 Years Straight!

The Lanett Panthers overpowered the Aliceville Yellow Jackets and look to grab it’s third Class 2A State Basketball Championship in as many years.
It was a great day to be a Lanett Panther on Monday, February 26, 2018, as the Panthers blasted the Aliceville Yellow Jackets 75-64 at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center.

Lanett came, Lanett saw, and Lanett conquered.

Lanett has had the same game plan all year long, feed Littles and Pollard in the paint to open up their outside shooting.

It was the same on Monday, Littles in the paint, Pollard doing it inside and out, and Truitt raining shots from the perimeter.

The combination of seniors Manny Littles, Anquavious Pollard and Ty Truitt, combined with a plethora of young talent has been a recipe for success for the Panthers this year.

Aliceville (20-3) didn›t go down easy and put forth a valiant effort but didn›t quite have enough in the end.

It was a hard fought battle but the Panthers grabbed a double digit lead mid fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Lanett was led in scoring by Anquavious Pollard with 22-points, Ty Truitt had 21-points, and Manny Littles had the games only double-double, with 15-points and 11 boards.

Lanett goes for its third straight title on Friday at 10:45 a.m. against St. Luke’s.
