LaFayette High School student, McGarrett Kelley, has been selected for the District 4 School Superintendents of Alabama (SSA) and Chalkable Continuing Education Scholarship. SSA allows each finalist for the Superintendent of the Year program to have a scholarship winner from their school district. Dr. Kelli Hodge was a finalist for Superintendent of the Year; therefore, Chambers County School District will have a graduating senior receiving a $1000.00 scholarship. The scholarship recipient must be a graduating senior who has plans to pursue a degree in the field of education. The recipient must also have a minimum ACT score of 18 and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
McGarrett is a graduating senior from LaFayette High School. He has plans to attend Alabama State University in the fall where he will major in music education. McGarrett has been a member of the Marching Bulldog Band as a tuba player. He is the son of Alicia Morgan.
