Former band director Leon Banks named director of Springwood School band

Springwood School has announce that Leon Banks is the new band director for Springwood.

Leon retired from Lafayette High School in Spring of 2016 where he had served faithfully for 34 years as the band director.

Lafayette High School is truly known for Friday night’s football games halftime shows under the leadership of Leon Banks.

From Parades to Battle of the bands in Montgomery Al. Banks is known to set the atmosphere with the Bulldog Pride sounds and the get down walk the dog dance routines..

Banks is an Alexander City native who comes from a family of educators.

He graduated from Benjamin Russell High School, then went on to Alabama State University to earn his degrees in elementary and secondary instrumental music education with a minor in performance.
