A massive resort development is quickly rising just over the Georgia state line and as the concrete sets in place and bricks begin to stack on the $150 million project, new details were released about some of the amenities the development will bring with it to the local area that can be enjoyed without having to stay at the water park resort.
Great Wolf Lodge is being constructed on nearly 500-acre development off Interstate 85 in neighboring Troup County near Lagrange. The project is set to bring with it a lazy river and indoor waterpark, but aside from the cool recreation offered by the development new retail, dining, hotel, and office spaces is set to make up the 500-acre development and last week representatives from Great Wolf advised city leaders in Lagrange of some of the amenities to expect as the project opens next year.
The Great Wolf Lodge will include a Dunkin’ Donuts location. The location will have a walk up counter and does not require guests to stay at the resort to purchase from the new location. Likewise, a new Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream shop is set to open in the project as well and will be open to the general public.
Developers also announced plans to include a brick oven pizza location, a candy shop, a buffet style restaurant, a bar, a Tex Mex themed restaurant, and a high-end steakhouse are all planned for the location. The specific brand of these facilities was not revealed by developers. Developers did announce that local residents will be able to use these facilities without a stay at the Great Wolf Lodge required.
If enjoying the watersports is not ideal for someone, then Great Wolf will feature dry activities that are open to the public to include a full-service arcade, rock wall, miniature bowling alley, and a rope course. Developers have not announced all the amenities the facility will feature, but promise there will be a lot with the resort when it opens its doors in spring of 2018.
