Mr. Adams
Christopher Bryant Adams 40, of LaFayette, died Friday, November 18, 2016 at the U.A.B. Hospital in Birmingham. Christopher was born September 1, 1976 in LaGrange, Georgia, and worked in the parts department at Sun South Tractor Supply in Auburn, Alabama. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday November 26, 2016 from 4p.m. until 7p.m. CST at Jeff Jones Funeral Home. He is survived by his Father Curtis (Rabbit) Adams of LaFayette, his Mother Donna (Kevin) Addison of West Point, Ga. Mrs. Barber

Mrs. Romona Barber 69, of Lanett, died Wednesday November 16, 2016 at the LaFayette Nursing Home. Mrs. Barber was born in Langdale, February 17, 1947 to the late Robert Gresham and the late Lilian Lucille Ray Gresham. Mrs. Barber retired as a clerk at the Chambers County Probate Office in LaFayette. Graveside services were held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 1p.m. (CST), 2p.m. (EST) at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery in Beulah, with the Rev. Nathanael Barber officiating.
Survivors are her five children David Conway of Valley, Al., Greta (Scott) Wilson of Five Points, Al., Jack Barber, III of Lanett, Al., Rev. Nathanael (Andrea) Barber of Lanett, Al., Jonathan (April) Barber of Simpsonville, SC, one sister Martha J. Whitlow of LaFayette, thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren. Mr. Lashley
Funeral services for Ray Edward Lashley, age 84, of Roanoke were held on
Sunday, November 20, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Abanda Baptist Church with Rev. Mickey Vaughn officiating. Burial followed at LaFayette City Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lashley passed away Thursday, November 17. 2016, at his residence.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn Cofield of Roanoke and Nancy Henderson (Max) of LaFayette; one son, Donald Lashley (Eden) of Clacksville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Bertice Smolinski of Montgomery, Betty Lashley of Camp Hill, and Mary Nell of Portland, OR.
Pallbearers were Adam Coker, Bruce Davidson, Kevin Baldwin, Scott Green, Lynn Coker, and Randy McGill.
A Chambers County native, Mr. Lashley was born on April 12, 1932, the son of John Burt and Willie Mae Sikes Lashley. He was a member of Abanda Baptist Church and opened the Country Catfish Camp in 1984 and owned and operated it for 15 years. Mr. Lashley was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lena Mae Lashley.

Mrs. Smith

Mrs. Lola Smith 92, of Jackson’s Gap, died Saturday, November 19, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Smith was born in Chambers County, Alabama December 22, 1923 to the late John Emery Treadwell and the late Mary Tula Culpepper Treadwell, she was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in LaFayette, and was a retired LPN having worked at the Chambers County Hospital for many years. Graveside services were held at 2p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the LaFayette City Cemetery.
She is survived by her son Teddy (Linda) Smith of Jackson’s Gap, Al., 4 grandchildren Tad (Donna) Smith of LaFayette, Al., Shannon (Daniel) Atkinson of LaGrange, Ga., Shan (Ashley) Smith of Auburn, Al., Chanel (Dustin) Latham of Jackson’s Gap, Al., seven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
