Mr. Baswell
Mr. Hobart Baswell 87, of LaFayette, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Baswell was born July 15, 1929 in St. Claire County, Alabama to the late Roy Baswell and the late Ovada Bishop Baswell. Mr. Baswell had served as an Alabama State Trooper, later operated the Western Auto Store in LaFayette and also was a building contractor. Graveside services were held Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the LaFayette City Cemetery with Mr. Tony Oliver and Rev. Mark McGee officiating.

He is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Rikk Miller) Hawkins of Prattville, Al., Cindy (Larry) Hurst of LaFayette, Val Hurst of Five Points, special friend Glenda Green of LaFayette, sister Emma C. Mr. Ison

Mr. Render Lee Ison 91, of LaFayette, died Sunday April 23, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Ison was born in Chambers County December 30, 1925 to the late Guy Ison and the late Annie Mae Ison. Mr. Ison was retired from Ison Logging, and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Camp Hill and he also served in the US Army and received a purple heart. Funeral services were held Tuesday April 25, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Powell officiating and burial followed at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his four children-Anthony (Janet) Ison of LaFayette, Melanie (Kenneth) Brown of LaFayette, Chris (JoAnna) Ison of LaFayette, Jerome (Jerri) Ison of LaFayette, seven grandchildren-Tanya (Kevin) Boone of Wetumpka, Al., Matthew (Jacqueline) Brown of LaFayette, Brandon (Alaina) Ison of LaFayette, Brian (Gina Ratland) Brown of LaFayette, Carmen (Jonathan) Walker of Roanoke, Al., LeAnna (Joey) Gillenwaters of LaFayette, Lindsey Ison of LaFayette, seven great grandchildren-Bailea and Bryant Boone, Lexie and Alivia Brown, Maison and Whitlee Walker and Avery Ison. brother in law-Hilson (Linda) Lisemby of LaFayette, sister in law Frances Fant of White Plains. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Foster Parents Ruben and Emma Looser, wife of 64 years Resa F. Ison, brother James “Bud” (LaVerne) Ison, foster brothers Joe (Nellie Dean) Looser and Albert Looser. Donations may be made to Mt. Mr. Cook

Jack Cook, 87, of LaFayette, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester, Sr. and Daisy Cook; and brothers, Calvin Cook and Lester Cook, Jr.

Jack is survived by his wife, Rebecca Cook; daughters, Jacquelyn Cook and Nancy Chrisman; grandchildren, Kyle Chrisman (Julie), Kellan Chrisman (Jamie), Jayce Chrisman (Catherine) and Jocelyn Flamm (Nick); great-grandchild, Abbie Florence Chrisman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cook was the owner-operator of Chamco Nursery in LaFayette, AL.

A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 2408 County Road 62, LaFayette, AL.
