Mr. Langley
Mr. Jack Thomas Langley 86 of LaFayette, Alabama died Tuesday April 26, 2016 at the East Alabama Medical Center. Mr. Langley was born in Chambers County May 22, 1929 to the late George Veasey Langley and the late Lessie Bishop Langley. He served in the US Air Force, was a member of the First Baptist Church in LaFayette, he was also a mason and member of the Solomon Lodge #74 in LaFayette, he was in the pulpwood business for 56 years owning & operating Jack Langley Pulpwood in LaFayette, Alabama And West Point, Georgia. Mr Langley has always been an avid outdoorsman & wildlife endhusiast. All of the land management decisions have included practices that have benefitted wildlife & other land uses. In 1988 his property became Chambers County’s first Treasure Forest. Due to his stewardship of the land he was awarded the Government Conservation Achievement Award for Wildlife. Mr. Langley was first a cattle and cotton farmer, then went into the wood business where he planted thousands of pine trees, where he has won many awards. One was our farm was the first Treasure Forest and then later he won for the oldest Treasure Forest. Funeral services were held Thursday April 28, 2016 at 10am at the First Baptist Church in LaFayette with burial in the LaFayette City Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Hand and the Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Sherman (Tookie) Langley of LaFayette, Al., 2 sons-Billy (Carla) Langley of LaFayette, Al., Kim Langley of LaFayette, Al., 2 sisters-Lynda (Buddy) Burton of laFayette, Al.,Helen (Dennis) Calhoun of Columbus, Ga., 2 granddaughters-Heather Langley (Casey) McCleod of Opp, Al., Kelly Langley (Patrick) Poole of Auburn, Al., 5 great grandchildren. Mrs. Bryant
Shirlene L. Bryant, 78, died Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah after a short illness.

Born in Chambers County, Alabama, Mrs. Bryant was a resident of Midway for 38 years and was a member of the Coastal Lions Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bryant; parents, Roy and Lorene Lovelace; and a brother, Larry Lovelace.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Tuten (Dale) of Midway; sons, Kenneth Bryant (Ernestine) of Townsend and Richard Bryant (Patty) of Orange Park, FL; three sisters, Joyce Lashley of Marietta, Clarice Zeana and Brenda Lovelace both of Dadeville, AL; two brothers, Roy D. Lovelace of Lafayette, AL, and Michael Lovelace of Opelika, AL; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service was held at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery, 215 Martin Road, Midway, GA 31320.

Miss Asiah C. Allen, 27, of Jonesboro, GA passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, 2:00 p.m. CST at New Canaan Baptist Church in Camp Hill, AL, Rev. Justin Freeman, Pastor; Rev. Arthur Thomas; Officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Miss Allen is survived by her mother, Traci L. Jones, of Jonesboro, GA, her father, Alexander Allen (Penny), of LaFayette, AL, two sisters, Danielle S. Toles, of Stone Mountain, GA, and Alexis S. Finley, of Jonesboro, GA, grandmother, Ruth Toles, of LaFayette, AL, grandfathers: KC Jones, Jr. of Valley, AL and Donnie B. Allen of LaFayette, AL, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relative andfriends.

Ms. Jessie Lee Kelley, 73, of Wadley, AL passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, 1:00 p.m. CST at Greater Pine Hill Baptist Church in LaFayette, AL, Rev. Rodney Thomas, Pastor; Officiating; Rev. Calvin Trammell, Eulogist. Burial followed at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Wadley, AL.

Ms. Jessie Lee Kelley is survived by five children: Angela McCowan, Bobby Lee Kelley, Jr., Betty Jo Kelley and Annie Kelley, all of Roanoke, AL, and James Edward Kelley of Florida, four sisters: Mary Joyce Burdette and Effie Snow, both of Roanoke, AL, Laura Smith of Toledo, OH and Sheryl McCowan of Atlanta, GA, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
