Mrs. Betty Whitson 84, of LaFayette, died Sunday July 9, 2017 at the Dadeville Health Care Center in Dadeville, Alabama. Mrs. Whitson was born in LaFayette May 23, 1933 to the late Ray Huckaby and the late Thelma Leverett Huckaby, she was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church, and she and her husband served as Missionaries to Africa for 25 years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 12, 2017 at 11 AM at the Rock Springs Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, with the Rev. James Caulfield officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10AM until 11AM at the church prior to the service.
She is survived by her two daughters Deborah (David) Morgan of LaFayette, Ginger Whitson of Jacksons Gap, Al., one sister Barbara (Steve) Olaveson of Opelika, Al., four grandchildren Devon Sharp, Jeremy Morgan, Christy Harper and Misty Stern and nine great grandchildren. Graveside Service for Mrs. Causey, 88, of Alexander City, will be Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Hillview Memorial Park. Rev. Dr. Gerald Hallmark will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Causey passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Fair Haven in Birmingham. She was born on December 11, 1928 in Troup County, Georgia to William Ernest Davis and Mary Nettie Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Annette Weathers (Dave); grandchildren, Rebecca Collin Ferguson, Hadley Causey Lawrence (Brandon), and William Cody Causey; great-grandchildren, Adalin Josie Causey, Easton Lee Lawrence, Dawson Beckett Lawrence and Leiton Lake Lawrence; daughter-in-law, Cyndi Causey and sister-in-law Joyce Causey Johnston (Charles).
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Byron Causey; son, William Davis Causey; parents; and siblings, William Jarrell Davis, Hubert Adolphus Davis and Monica Fay Davis.
