Rebels win 3, gear up for playoffs

The Chambers Academy Varsity boys baseball team played 4 games this week.  The week began with 3 combined area wins against Evangel and EMCA to secure the number 2 spot in the area.

The final game of the week was a 4-0 loss against 3A Lee Scott.  The 10-0 victory against Evangel was just what the Rebels needed.  Caydon Smoot started on the mound pitching 6 full innings; striking out 10 batters.  Gavin White went 3 for 4 at the plate with two RBI’s.  Braxton Allen went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s.

The Rebels followed up the win against Evangel with two more wins against EMCA.  The first game in the double header was won 9-3 and the second game 8-3.  Gavin White earned the win pitching four innings with 8 strikeouts.  Luke Davis got the save with 4 strikeouts.  Hitting, Luke Davis went a combined 6 for 8 with a two run home run and 5 RBI’s.

The Rebels will enter region play as the #2 seed and will host Sparta in the first round of the playoffs on Friday, April 20th, at 2:00 pm cst.
