The Chambers County Relay for Life will host a cancer survivor luncheon at the Valley Community Center on Saturday June 8 from 10 am until noon CST.
A survivor is anyone who has ever heard the words “you have cancer.”
“Survivors are the reason we Relay and we want to celebrate and honor them,” Relay Event Chair Linda Sanders said. “We invite all cancer survivors in the community to attend the luncheon and Relay for Life on June 21 at the Chambers County Agricultural Park in LaFayette.”
Invitations for the survivors luncheon will go out this week, Sanders said.
Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in the community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer.
This year’s overnight event will begin at 6 pm CST on Friday June 21 and will end at 6 am on Saturday, June 22.
It’s not too late to make a donation or get involved in this year’s Relay for Life. The Chambers County committee is still looking for vendors for the event. The cost for vendors is $50.
