The Chambers County Sheriff’s Department has upped the ante and is now offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for fatally shooting and dumping an Opelika woman’s body in rural Chambers County last October.
The Chambers County Sheriff’s Department has been investigating the gruesome discovery made by a passing motorist on Chambers County Road 25 near the intersection of County Road 173 on October 20, 2017. On that date 47-year-old Tammie Blount of Opelika was found fatally shot on the roadway near the Chambers and Lee County line.
Law enforcement officials from both Lee and Chambers County arrived on the scene, but Chambers County took over the investigation and continue to relentlessly search for Blount’s killer. On last Tuesday, the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office and Crimestoppers announced they were offering a reward of $5000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the death of Blount.
Blount was last seen on the day before her body was found. On Thursday October 19, 2017 she was seen occupying a white Ford Taurus, according to previous reports from the sheriff’s department. Anyone with any information on the murder of Tammie Blount should contact the Chambers County Sheriff’s Department at (334)864-4333 or Crimestoppers at (334)756-8200.
