Charlotte Blasingame
By Charlotte Blasingame

News will be short this week as it seems the Blasingame home has been hit with the notorious “Stomach Bug”. Still feeling queezie as they say but hopefully on the road to recovery. For those of you who have experienced it recently .. you have my deepest sympathy.. It just needs to leave me alone especially.

This year marks the 20th year of LaFayette/Valley Haven Day scheduled for April 8th, hope you are making plans to attend. Let me take this time to say to all who have used our parking lot (behind our home) to park in each year. Please feel free to continue to park there even though our Motor home is there you are still welcomed to park. I remember last year so well. You see, James Morgan was being recognized for his service and support to Valley Haven. Having our Golf Cart on the scene we were asked to ride he and Louise up to the front. He was so anxious to get to Sheriff Lockhart’s trailer to get something to eat that he was not realizing we were taking him to the front. He kept saying” I want to go see Sid, I told him we would take him over there but we had to go to the front first. He was so proud to accept his plaque from the group but still anxious to go eat!. What a memory for David and I to be able to even get him on an Auburn golf cart, knowing his love for Alabama. I told him thank you for riding on it and he said yea with that little grin he always had.. he will definitely be missed this year for sure.

Also let me remind you about the Log A Load for Kids April 22nd beginning at 7:30am registration and the Sporting Clay Shoot beginning at 8:30am The events carrying on from then throughout the day. It will be held at The Oaks in LaFayette.

LaFayette First Baptist will be sharing “The Shadow of the Cross” Palm Sunday April 9th at 6pm. The public is invited. Finger foods will be served afterwards.

Speaking of Easter The LaFayette Methodist Church will be hosting services during Holy Week (April 10-14) beginning at 12 noon. Lunch will be served afterwards. The public is invited to attend.
Prayers for all our sick and shut ins.
