A popular casual dining restaurant in LaGrange abruptly closed its doors on Monday in the Troup County city. The closure leaves residents wondering what forced their locally eatery to abruptly close, but optimistic as to what future developments can move into the location.
The Ruby Tuesday located on Morgan Road in LaGrange served its last customers on Sunday night. On Monday morning guests to the eatery that has a 20-year history in LaGrange were greeted with a sign on the door announcing the business had been closed and to please visit the Ruby Tuesday location in Newnan
Ruby Tuesday has been downsizing its stores over the past couple of years. Since 2016 nearly 100 stores across the country were closed, including three in Alabama. There has been no word on what will fill the vacant storefront left by Ruby Tuesday, but residents in LaGrange are hopeful another national eatery may be on the way to the city.
In addition, to the closure of Ruby Tuesday in LaGrange, the Sneakers shoe store located on LaFayette Parkway is set to close its doors in LaGrange this month as well. A liquidation sale has been ongoing at the store since late 2017.
