Investigators in the city of Lanett have not rested following a mass shooting at a nightclub in Lanett on October 22nd. Just days after the shooting Lanett police took one suspect into custody for the shooting that left nine people struck by bullets and two with fatal injuries. Last week Lanett Police arrested a second suspect in connection to the violence that erupted inside Club Addiction and a third individual was arrested on Monday in connection to the shooting.

Lanett Police responded in the early morning hours to Club Addiction located on 19th Street SW in Lanett on October 22nd. Responding officers were answering a call of shots fired at the small nightclub. When officers arrived, they discovered two individuals shot on the scene. Those victims were transported to area hospitals. One died upon arrival. The second victim died days later at UAB hospital in Birmingham. While officers were at the hospitals additional victims began to arrive suffering from less life-threatening injuries from the gunfire that exploded inside and outside of Club Addiction.
Lanett police arrested Daron Dafney, 20, of Auburn on Wednesday October 25th in connection to the shooting. He was charged with capital murder in connection to the shooting that took place at the nightclub. Dafney was being held without bond following his arrest in connection to the shooting.

Lanett investigators did not end their investigation with the arrest of Dafney. On last week officers arrested 20-year-old Travis Terrell Fielder Jr. or Tuskegee, Alabama in connection to the shooting. Lanett investigators note that they were assisted in the apprehension of Fielder by other agencies through a cooperative effort. Fielder has been charged with capital murder and attempted murder in connection to the shooting that took place at Club Addiction.

On Monday a third suspect was taken into custody by police in Auburn, Alabama. Police in Auburn arrested Dequavious D.Cobb, 26, of Auburn on an unrelated charge. Upon Cobb posting bond for his charges in Auburn, Lanett police were notified. He was taken into custody immediately and transported to the Chambers County Detention Facility in LaFayette. Cobb was booked into the jail on 1 count of murder and 7 counts of assault 1st degree.

Lanett police continue to investigate the fatal shooting at the popular nightclub and ask anyone who has information on that investigation to contact the Lanett Police Department at (334)644-5236 or Crime Stoppers at (334)756-8200.
