Committee announces special pricing for youth sports


The LaFayette Rec-
reation Committee held
its latest meeting on last
Tuesday. As members of
the board came together
a lot was accomplished
in the short meeting at
LaFayette’s City Hall. In
all that was accomplished
the biggest benefit goes
to the youth of LaFay-
ette who will engage in
activities sponsored by the
One of LaFayette’s
favorite past times is youth
football and the commit-
tee has announced that
registration is ongoing for
youth football presently.
According to members of
the committee registra-
tion is open from May 30
through June 30 for youth
ages 4-12 years of age.
Registration takes place on
Thursdays from 5-7 p.m.
and again on Saturday
from 9 a.m. to noon at City
Hall in LaFayette.
The committee also
announced that a special
price for youth football
and youth cheerleading
during the registration
period. The special price
from May 30th through
June 30th is only $50 for
football or cheerleading.
In addition, the growth of
LaFayette’s youth sports
is evident as committee
members announced that
LaFayette is rejoining the
East Alabama Football
The membership in the
league allows LaFayette
players to travel for games
and face opponents that
may include Reeltown,
Dadeville, T
allassee, and
Pike Road among oth-
ers. An agreement has
also been put into place
between the city of La-
Fayette and the Chambers
County School System
to use school buses for
transporting of youth to
away games this upcom-
ing season. Registration
for youth football is open
to any Chambers County
While gearing up for
hard hitting youth football
and cheerleading action,
LaFayette’s baseball
league is also in full
swing. The season kicked
off on June 2nd and runs
through the 23rd of June.
Games are set to be played
every Saturday starting at
9:00 a.m at the LaFayette
Little League Fields. Com-
mittee members encour-
age residents to come out
enjoy a hotdog and a coke
while enjoying the game.
