On Monday, Febru-ary 25th, the fourth, fifth and sixth grade classes from Chambers Acad-emy travelled to Valley’s Bradshaw Library to visit Alabama’s Travel-ling Bicentennial Exhibit. Students were treated to an orientation on how our state is commemorating Alabama’s 200th anniver-sary of statehood since it was founded in 1819. The program celebrates Alabama’s statehood, rich history, diversity and natu-ral beauty. Alabama became the USA’s twenty-second overall state on December 14, 1819. The Alabama 200 program is a three year long celebration of the people, places, and events that make up our state’s rich history. We are commemorating Alabama’s 200th anniver-sary of statehood with a celebration of our state’s natural beauty, diverse people, andrich history. The program allows for the travelling exhibit to help promote learning and engagement with students today that wish to learn more about our state. CA students had a great experience visiting the exhibit and participated in a historical scavenger hunt during their visit col-lecting information from the sites and exhibits on hand. Pictured below are the fourth, fifth and sixth graders on tour as well as those working feverishly on their historical scaven-ger hunts.
