The Superintendent of The Chambers County School system confirms a Valley High School teacher has been placed on administrative leave with pay..The action comes as the school board investigates an alleged inappropriate relationship the teacher had with a student several years ago.
Dr. Kelli Hodge says legally she cannot release the name of the teacher. Hodge says she was notified of the situation on January 4th, shortly after the student, who has since graduated from Valley High, filed a police report with Valley Police.
Valley Police tell us, they investigated and determined charges could NOT be filed because under Alabama law the student met the age of consent at the time the student claims the relationship happened. Valley police say because the investigation is now closed, they can’t release the teachers name either.
