The annual LaFayette High School Tip-Off Tournament will take place next week around the Thanksgiving holiday. The Bulldog teams were scheduled to play against Notasulga on Tuesday, but the game was cancelled because Notasulga is still in the football playoffs.
Because of that, the Bulldog boys will open the season in the Tip-Off Tournament.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Nov. 26 in the Dog Palace and will conclude on Nov. 28.
In addition to getting the basketball season started, Wednesday night will also be a special night as LHS is set to host a dedication ceremony for legendary coach John T. Woody prior to the start of the tournament on Nov. 26 at 5:30 pm.
The ceremony will be followed by the tournament’s first game between Smiths Station and Bullock County at 6 pm. LaFayette will play an intersquad game following that at 7:30 pm.
On Friday, the winner of the Smiths Station, Bullock Co. game will face off against the full LaFayette High team at 7 pm in the tournament championship game.
All three LaFayette High teams, boys, girls and b-team, will officially open the regular season on Dec. 2 when they host Beauregard.
