The Valley Industrial Park in Chambers County has received the Alabama AdvantageSite designation.
The AdvantageSite program requires that community economic development organizations provide documentation specific to a proposed industrial site, including a set of standard data related to ownership/ control, environmental and geotechnical conditions, and infrastructure status. Sites must also meet size, zoning and accessibility requirements.
The 410-acre industrial park is located within the City of Valley city limits and has direct access to Interstate 85 via Fob James Drive. Fifty acres on the west side of Industrial Park Road has been cleared for better interstate visibility. All utilities are at the site. The park also is located in a New Market Tax Credit area of the state.
The application process was managed locally by the Chambers County Development Authority with a team of local entities supporting and/or participating in the process.
“This process was very educational for our office,” said Kimberly Carter, CCDA’s family support coordinator and business retention specialist. “By completing this process, we were able to learn the ins and outs of this property.”
This is the second time a site in Chambers County has received this designation, and the first site sold within a matter of months, according to CCDA Executive Director Valerie Gray.
“I am simply impressed with the dedication of our staff and our local partners and utility providers who worked side by side with us,” Gray said, adding that Carter dedicated a tremendous amount of time and effort making sure each requirement was met.

City of Valley Mayor Leonard Riley said the city made a major financial investment and commitment with the creation of the Valley Industrial Park for the purpose of bringing major economic growth, continued progress and new prosperity to the city.
“In today’s economic environment, you must be competitive,” Riley said. “The selection of the Valley Industrial Park by the AdvantageSite review committee as a certified AdvantageSite will be an enormous asset in the recruitment of new industry to our city. I would like to thank the Chambers County Development Authority for their efforts and hard work in securing this designation and for partnering with the City of Valley in our continuing efforts to grow and improve the economy for all our citizens in Valley and the Greater Valley Area.”
