Lafayette Native Jared Washington had the 2nd Annual Football Camp this weekend for kids K-12
The 2nd annual Camp 41 football camp took place on Saturday at Bulldog Stadium on the campus of LaFayette High School.
Hosted by LaFayette native and former University of West Alabama All-American defensive tackle Jared Washington, the camp was a successful combination of giving back and a dream and goal realized.
The kids who attended the 2-3 hour camp received a Camp 41 t-shirt and lunch.
The Camp started early Saturday morning at 9am until 2pm that evening.
It was a great turn out!
Speaking with Washington:
Camp 41 has been a great learning experience for the youth.
We teach them the fundamentals about the game and life lessons also.
We let them know that academics are the most important, academics can sometimes open doors pure athleticism will not.
We also tell them to write down there goals so they can see what they are working towards, it will help and keep them on track.
Jared states he had coaches Chris Carlise, Desmond Holloway,Ervin Jackson from West Al.
Mike McCoy owner of Warehouse Performance and former Alabama Player, Christain Jones also played at Alabama, and Mike McCarty Point University. All came out and help with the Camp.
