Washington returns to hometown with football camp


Camp41 hosted its 3rd
annual football camp, at
the Bulldog stadium last
Jared Rashaud Wash-
ington anative of Lafay-
ette, son of Linda Wash-
ington and the late Willie
Washington and a profes-
sional football player with
the Maine Mammoths in
Portland Maine founded
the camp.
A career ending injury
stopped him from going
to an NFL camp. Thus as
the founder of Camp41
and Foundation41 which
also gives school supplies
back to his community are
his new passion. He has
a degree in education and
minor in criminal justice.
Washington said,
“We had coaches
from all high schools
Sumter county, Wilcox
county and even col-
lege coaches from UWA,
UWG and also recruit-
ers from Rivals as well as
Scott Smith Street Light
Productions. The camp
was every bit of amazing,
the kids came from all
the surrounding areas and
showed their talents. The
coaches were impressed
and we will be right back
at it next year with an
even bigger camp!”
