Lafayette star athletic Jatarvious (Boobee) Whitlow looked to takes his 1st step on the Plains of Auburn University as an Auburn Tiger on Saturday against season opener with Georgia Southern.  But, instead he rode in on a scooter.

Gus Malzahn expected nearly everybody on Auburn’s roster to be ready for the Sept. 2 season-opener against Georgia Southern.
The only person, the head coach said that he was doubtful to play after the team’s second scrimmage of the fall, is true freshman JaTarvious Whitlow.
“Whitlow is the only one. He had an ankle issue,” Malzahn said. “He’s the only guy that will have a chance at not being ready for the first game. Everybody else will be ready for the first game.”

Whitlow, formerly the star quarterback at LaFayette High, has been repping at running back during his first fall at Auburn. He was of the five players in competition to be the team’s third running back behind Kamryn Pettway and Kerryon Johnson.
