The Chambers Academy volleyball teams traveled to Evangel in Montgomery last week to take on the Lions in Area play.  The Varsity game was a nail biter as the Rebels won the first match and lost the next two.  The third match was won by CA leaving the fourth as a “first to 15 points” tie breaker.  Kelsey Oliver was up to serve when the final points were scored; a win that makes post season play very probable for the Lady Rebels.  Oliver Led the team with 6 aces.  McKensie Barnes added 5 aces. Lindsey Fuller had 4 aces.  Bailey Allen had 3 aces and Chloe Mitcham had 2 in the win. Britten Stephens had a team high 11 hits and 1 block.  Tate Reese also had 5 hits in the win.  Barnes was credited for 4 digs. Oliver and Fuller each had 3 digs for the Rebels.

The JV ladies also defeated Evangel in a best two out of three matchup.  CA easily defeated Evangel 25-11 in the first match but lost the second one 25-19.  The ladies came back to win the tie breaker by a score of 15-8. Chloe Mitcham and Bailey Allen led in hits with 2 each.  Alyssa Sorrells led with a team high 5 aces.  Bailey Allen, Claire Allen and Natalie Lovelace each recorded 3 aces in the win.

The Rebels will play Evangel at home on Thursday, October 5th, with JV beginning at 4:00 ct. and varsity following.  The Rebels will also be celebrating senior night with festivities occurring between the JV and Varsity games.  Make plans to support the lady Rebels in their last home game of the season.
