10 Chambers County players named to all-state teams

CHAMBERS COUNTY — Following a season that saw numerous Chambers County basketball teams make state title runs,
10 players have made Alabama Sports Writers Association all-state teams.

Headlining the list are LaFayette High School senior guard Amilleon Huguley and Springwood School senior guards Kori Key and Tori Patillo.

Those players each made the first-team in their respective classification and gender.

Chambers Academy boys’ head coach Jason Allen was also named AISA boys’ head coach of the year.

Allen led the Rebels to a 15-6 overall record and the school’s second boys basketball state championship with a 45- 41 win over Springwood in the AISA AA title game.

Here is everyone who received postseason honors:

Class 5A Girls

Second-team All-State

• Kayden Dooley, Valley, Jr., G, 5-8

Class 2A Boys

First-team All-State

• Amilleon Huguley, LaFayette, Sr., F, 6-1 Second-team All-State

• Fred Broughton, Lanett, Sr., G, 5-10 Third-team All-State

• Jayden Thomason, LaFayette, Jr., F, 6-6

Class 2A Girls

Honorable mention

• Nakeriona Heard, Lanett, Sr., G, 5-9

AISA Boys

First-team All-State

• Kori Key, Springwood, Sr., G, 6-3 Second-team All-State

• Christian Terry, Chambers Academy, Jr., G, 6-0
Coach of the year

• Jason Allen, Chambers Academy

AISA Girls

First-team All-State

• Tori Patillo, Springwood, Sr., G, 5-10 Third-team All-State

• AC Jackson, Springwood, 8th, G, 5-0

• Madison Stanford, Chambers Academy, Sr., G, 5-7
